Our work for legendary Savile Row stalwart, Richard James, has recently extended to printed assets for the company. We were recently asked to develop a handbook to communicate to the Richard James staff worldwide their standard way of dressing the store.

We produced a small but perfectly formed handbook with a particular attention to detail on the finishing. A thick gatefold cover with the logo debossed and foil-blocked in the corporate gun metal, reveals the bright fluorescent orange interior of the booklet complete with annotated imagery highlighting the company rules of presentation. All topped off with a neat fluorescent orange thread binding to give it that perfect tailored finish.

You've read about it on Twitter. You overheard the man on the tube boasting about how he bought the last jar in stock. You even saw Sarah Jessica Parker devouring it on the Jonathan Ross Show. Eat 17's Bacon Jam is creating quite a stir and we hope that part of it is down to our bold, fluro electric design for the jar label which we believe evokes the feeling of eating this amazing relish.

We've already asked the guys at Eat 17 to give us more (much more) to satisfy our new found craving, and we've heard that the product is soon to go nationwide in the coming months. Look out for it – as if you'll have any choice!

Eat 17 and Studio NMO meet together in a delicious experiment in design versus food. Eat 17's head chef, Chris O Conner, devised a Specials Menu specifically for the duration of this year's E17 Art Trail. We then translated this visually and produced five exclusive Giclée prints that are exhibited within the restaurant as well as a large and lovely vinyl exterior window display highlighting the event.

The menu is available until 11th September when the Art Trail finishes for what will surely be another successful year. The prints are available to order through the restaurant or you can email us for more information.

We were asked by our friends at the local boutique, Penny Fielding Beautiful Interiors, to design their shop window in celebration of this years E17 Art Trail.

The Art Trail is an annual event here in Walthamstow that is going from strength to strength each and every year since its inception 7 years ago. We're very proud to have been asked to get involved this year, and we produced this hand painted labour of love for Penny's window with a smile on our face and white emulsion on our brow.

We will also be posting up things that we find inspirational to us in art, design and communication so you get an idea of what really makes us tick.

As we get more sign ups to the page we will soon post some exclusive competitions giving away limited edition art and prints we've produced along the way. So don't delay, become a Studio NMO fan and go to our page today.

We've just completed the design and build of the newly launched Orit e-commerce store, with help from our digital development partners at V Communications. We set out to achieve the same unique dedicated shopping experience found at the Orit London boutique shop, combined with an intuitive and secure online platform.

With over 250 beautiful items of hand crafted jewellery available to order, the site design not only looks great but has to be extremely robust in its structure to handle all these different types of product. Since working with Orit right from their inception in 2007 we've been delighted to see them grow and grow each and every year.

To promote the latest Richard James collection in homage to the Spongebob Squarepants cartoon character, we updated the design of the current flagship store window display with an energetic flash of yellow.

The collection provides an exciting departure from the usual Richard James product and so we liberated the window display accordingly with a little vibrant anarchism so the sponge-like Squarepants would feel right at home for the special yellow carpet launch party held in his honour. "I'm ready! I'm ready!"

We've just completed the design of the printed communications for personal shopper, Gillian Storey in which we attempted to evoke the feeling of a complete wardrobe in a single graphic solution!

We chose two contrasting paper stocks, a warm synthetic Plike and an uncoated cream card, and duplexed these together in a single sheet which was then foil-blocked with the client details in a bright pastel pink. The result offers a sympathetic colour palette made up of contrasting materials combined together to form a unified 'outfit' – symbolic of the work Gillian herself undertakes with her own clients.

We were over the moon when asked late last year by our favourite local place to eat, the aptly named Eat17, to help develop their existing restaurant identity towards an energetic brand extension. We didn't need to be asked twice as we absolutely love Chris and Dan's wonderful eatery, and set to work in developing a vibrant visual language that complemented their current identity.

We initialised a visual style that combined the Victorian aesthetic of the local area with a punky 21st century sensibility; mirroring the eclectic combinations seen within the restaurant's delicious, seasonal menu. We have up to now rolled out this brand extension through the online portal for the restaurant as well as initial touchpoints within the restaurant architecture – such as the main entrance signage emblazoned on the front door pictured above. With further projects planned with the boys at Eat17 in 2011, including a 'design versus food' exhibition in the late summer, we are really looking forward to an exciting relationship to help raise their already well established profile.

This February during London Fashion Week we once again set to work in promoting the latest Richard James collection at their flagship store. For this season their menswear collection is based on the 1960's Californian beach culture; combining fluid patterns and vivid colourways with the superior tailoring style and bold textile design that Richard James is globally renown for. We had lots of fun experimenting with translucent vinyls to create a kaleidoscopic lava-lamp experience for the inhabitants and shoppers of London's famous Savile Row to great acclaim.

Our second love next to design (apart from kids and spouses of course!) is food. One of our greatest pleasures after the completion of a successful project is to go and celebrate with a meal at one of our many favourite eateries. What a stroke of luck that one such project involved just that as reward for turning around a quick ident redesign for our friends who run the successful London supper club, The Friday Food Club. After serving exquisite food for those in the know since 2010, Lee and Fi wanted to celebrate the anniversary of their venture with a meal at the prestigious banqueting hall of The John Roan School in Greenwich.

Lee approached us late last year to help redesign their identity in conjunction with this anniversary and instantly fell in love with our range of illustrative animals we produced for a Christmas card in 2008. We set out to redevelop these icons for his new identity and they were rolled out in time for the big launch in January 2011. The night was a total success, with all proceeds donated to the charity Chance UK, as well as dish after dish of amazing food served continuously throughout the night. We're still reeling with joy over the wonderful Krupuk Scotch Egg cooked by the excellent team from The Modern Pantry. Yum!

Simon Svärd is a very close friend to Studio NMO. Back in 2004 we worked together for a vibrant gallery exhibition at Kemistry Gallery in Shoreditch. Now enjoying his life in Barcelona, Simon runs his own successful design studio working on some fantastic projects out there. He is currently working on the design of an engaging new quarterly publication from Innovation Management called The Hard Copy. This magazine centres on the idea of ideas; exploring business innovation through divergent thinking.

Simon is doing a great job in producing a design that is just as engaging as the content, and he recently asked us to help illustrate one of the lead articles in the magazine. It was with great pleasure we agreed and developed this piece for the concept of how spaces inspire creative and innovative thought. We look forward to seeing how it looks within the wonderful job that Simon will no doubt produce for the publication once completed.

Hats tipped to Mr David 'Hemingweb' Hemingway for helping us fine-tune our existing website. Our previous website was met with acclaim when launched last year, especially due to the inclusion of our case studies that explained our unique thinking and development behind our design solutions. We are now able to upload news items and new projects with greater ease and efficiency, and also link to social media.

David was instrumental from the start in helping us realise how we could achieve this added dimension of adding additional projects that form the bigger picture of what we do by developing a tag driven news page. Now by clicking on the Project Attributes tags on the left of this page, you'll be able to filter all the news items we produce over time to just show the type of work you are interested in. We've also got the added bonus of being able to link these news stories to the Facebook Share or Twitter social media networks.

If you like what you see then please let us know. We can discuss how our combined thinking with our excellent network of development and production partners can help solve your own design and strategic problems. Just like we did for our own!
